Using An Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) For Data Submittals

The Office of Water Quality (OWQ) provides technical assistance to help organizations share their data through an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), which not only streamlines the data entry process but also facilitates OWQ’s review of the data set for potential problems that can compromise its quality. EDIs are not suitable for every organization participating in the EDF as they take more time to develop than using the templates provided. However, EDIs can be a good option for organizations with ongoing monitoring programs that provide large and/or complex data sets with some regularity.

Organizations interested in learning more about this option are encouraged to contact the Secondary Data Coordinator for more information.

Questions?

Please contact the Secondary Data Coordinator if your organization is interested in working with OWQ staff to develop an EDI to facilitate uploading your data.
