Whether or not to register an organization depends on who is conducting data entry and whose data are being entered:

If you are entering data that you have collected as an individual with no affiliation to an organization, skip this step and go here to proceed with registering your site(s) or entering data for sites already registered.
If you are entering data collected by yourself or others on behalf of an organization, registering your organization first is necessary to associating your sampling events with your organization instead of the individual entering the data. This is particularly important when more than one individual user is entering data for a given organization and ensures and ensures that all the data you have submitted are found when you search the system for your organizations data.
Before registering your organization, check to see if it is already registered using the dropdown list below. Be sure to check for any alternate spellings or abbreviations of your organization’s name.
If you don’t find your organization in the list, click on the button in the lower right hand corner to expand the form and enter your organization information.
